I discovered this artist on Facebook, of all places. Karen Schmidt has been painting a portrait a day since January 2009 (from what I gather). They are 3" X 3" - so they are very small, but extremely interesting and their simplicity is breath-taking. Her website is sendmeyourhead.com.
